Champions for Children aims to:

-    Sustain, promote and develop projects and activities in the fields of humanitarian assistance, health, sport and education specifically designed to benefit children and young people.

-    Develop sport facilities and activities and organise cultural, musical, literary and scientific events and performances.

-    Increase awareness of the needs of children and young people in poor regions of the world through targeted campaigns and events, courses and seminars.

Since its foundation, Champions for Children has supported projects in Cambodia, Kenya, Brazil, the Netherlands and Suriname in partnership with local as well as Italian organisations. In addition, Champions for Children has organised fundraising events in Italy for children affected by natural disasters.

In the coming years, Champions for Children will focus on the construction of Champions Playgrounds, based on a specifically developed scientific model for the education of children through sport. As a befitting tribute to Nelson "Madiba” Mandela's legacy, the first facility will be built in Manenberg, a township of Cape Town,  South Africa.   Clarence Seedorf, was honoured to become one of five founding legacy ambassadors for Nelson Mandela through the Nelson Mandela Foundation in June 2009.
